I provide individual counseling to adults and teens to help them achieve their goals & live their best life! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor and have worked in a variety of settings gaining years of experience treating mental health and substance use disorders. I challenge people to dig deep to address the root causes of emotional distress rather than just managing the symptoms.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and use this treatment modality frequently as it is highly effective and efficient in treating issues of anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, substance use, etc. One word that summarizes my personal & professional experience with EMDR is FREEDOM!
I absolutely love being a therapist & would be honored to be a part of your healing process. Please visit my website www.nikkigreencounseling.com for more information, to contact me, and for self-scheduling options.

Welcome! I am Rachel (she/her). I’m here to support you on your journey towards living well and help you rediscover your innate authenticity. I see your awesomeness (yes you!). You have the capacity to create meaningful healing and growth, and I’m the go-to guide for those ready for change. You have inner wisdom and strengths, and I’ll foster an environment that empowers you to tap into them during our sessions. Let’s celebrate your humanness- mistakes, silliness, and all! I will encourage curiosity and self-compassion as you explore and shift unhealthy patterns (trust me, these patterns make sense given your unique context), and cultivate a deeper sense of self-acceptance and connectedness. It’s time to let go of who you are ‘supposed to be’ and begin embracing who you are.
I take an eclectic, person-centered approach, which allows me to tailor my therapy sessions to address your individual needs, unique experiences, and personal goals. I recognize the interconnection of your physical and emotional body and will encourage you to safely connect with your mind and body during sessions. I am an avid learner and thus have completed advanced, specialized trainings in several evidence-based modalities including:
I also have additional training in mindfulness, internal family systems, cognitive-behavioral, and somatic techniques that I can incorporate in sessions.
I work with adults (18 years and older) on the following:
Having completed Postpartum Support International (PSI) and Training for Adoption Competency (TAC) certification trainings allows me to support soon-to-be, new, foster, adoptive, and bio parents in a meaningful, well-informed way (hey parents, I’ve got you!).

You are not alone! No one should feel isolated when experiencing stress, anxiety, family building challenges or ever. Let me walk with you for a short part of your road.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work focused on children and families. In addition, I am a Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor. My passion is helping families by empowering them to discover, learn, and attain emotional and mental wellness. I have dedicated my career to working with families in various capacities including: individual counseling, couples counseling, and home studies for adoption as well as family counseling.
For more than 18 years, I have provided a wide range of counseling and services to families, including anxiety focused therapy, conflict resolution, drug and alcohol counseling, transitioning life circumstances, employee assistance (EAP) short term counseling, work with teenagers and improving family communication.
In my work, and in my personal experiences of losing a child, undergoing miscarriages, battling with secondary infertility, and living in an international orphanage, I have seen how few specialized services exist for families facing unique circumstances and exploring family building options. Counseling can offer couples a safe place to process these experiences and consider the direction a family wants to take. For some experiences in life, it is helpful to speak to someone who knows the degree to which a heart can hurt and that healing is possible.
I also love assisting teenagers navigate those difficult years and improve their communication with their best therapists, Mom and Dad!
I have specialized training in EMDR, grief and loss and family therapy.
Last, I offer three locations for counseling including in a client’s home which can be helpful in the cases of clients who are on bed rest or are recovering from a miscarriage or birth. I am excited to now be at hOMe holistic which offers a home environment with so many supportive services in addition to my office in downtown Kansas City.
Counseling can transform your relationships and improve your quality of life! Read more about me and my services at lscsw.org
Quite simply, I care about people’s stories; the present concerns being faced, the memories shaping beliefs, the fears hindering fulfillment, and the hopes motivating progress. I am a natural listener and a curious learner. Each client broadens my knowledge by allowing me to hear unique perspectives on relationships, family, health, downfalls, achievements, and expectations. I am grateful to be in such a privileged position, and I work hard to create safe, therapeutic relationships that lead to client fulfillment and wellness.
I have a special interest in working with women and couples during the prenatal and postnatal years. While these years are especially eventful and exciting, they are also at times extremely difficult. Therapeutic needs during the childbearing years are specific to each individual, so I am passionate about matching my knowledge and skills with my clients’ potential to achieve health and wellness for themselves and their growing families.
I have my Master’s in Counseling with an emphasis in Couples and Family therapy. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in the state of Kansas. Outside of my professional life, I spend most of my time with my husband and our four hilarious kids. thegreenroompractice.com
