Renee Herrmann is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and an aspiring Yoga Instructor. Renee discovered the power of holistic therapies during a time of great loss and grief in early 2001. Although she had been counseling individuals and families for several years at the time, these healing modalities impacted her both personally and professionally. Renee's passion for serving women stems from her own personal struggles and experiences, including a long battle with infertility. Holistic therapies, including yoga and meditation have become a way of life and a journey, rather than simply a way to deal with problems. Renee strives to offer support, nurturing and guidance to women seeking their own unique path.
I provide individual counseling to adults and teens to help them achieve their goals & live their best life! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor and have worked in a variety of settings gaining years of experience treating mental health and substance use disorders. I challenge people to dig deep to address the root causes of emotional distress rather than just managing the symptoms.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and use this treatment modality frequently as it is highly effective and efficient in treating issues of anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, substance use, etc. One word that summarizes my personal & professional experience with EMDR is FREEDOM!
I absolutely love being a therapist & would be honored to be a part of your healing process. Please visit my website www.nikkigreencounseling.com for more information, to contact me, and for self-scheduling options.

I personally and professionally know the physical terror, nausea, numbness, and extraordinary bliss that comes with NICU and special needs parenting.
My style is personable, non-judgmental, and welcoming to ALL of the various forms of family units. Together we can explore the roller coaster of emotions and trauma of your unique experience and develop a plan for healing. I use a combined approach of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), grief counseling, and substance abuse counseling. You will learn how to cope with your memories and begin to embrace possibilities that you could not imagine before. There is HOPE for brighter and stronger days, and possibilities for reducing the intensity of those NICU triggers.
No matter what brings us together or how different our stories and situations might be, we need each other! Whether you are seeking support navigating this new life after discharge from the hospital, are facing difficulties adjusting to your situation, feeling the "MOM-Guilt", or experiencing complicated grief from pregnancy or child loss.
I am here to help YOU bloOM despite the murky waters!

You are not alone! No one should feel isolated when experiencing stress, anxiety, family building challenges or ever. Let me walk with you for a short part of your road.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s in Social Work focused on children and families. In addition, I am a Licensed Drug and Alcohol Counselor. My passion is helping families by empowering them to discover, learn, and attain emotional and mental wellness. I have dedicated my career to working with families in various capacities including: individual counseling, couples counseling, and home studies for adoption as well as family counseling.
For more than 18 years, I have provided a wide range of counseling and services to families, including anxiety focused therapy, conflict resolution, drug and alcohol counseling, transitioning life circumstances, employee assistance (EAP) short term counseling, work with teenagers and improving family communication.
In my work, and in my personal experiences of losing a child, undergoing miscarriages, battling with secondary infertility, and living in an international orphanage, I have seen how few specialized services exist for families facing unique circumstances and exploring family building options. Counseling can offer couples a safe place to process these experiences and consider the direction a family wants to take. For some experiences in life, it is helpful to speak to someone who knows the degree to which a heart can hurt and that healing is possible.
I also love assisting teenagers navigate those difficult years and improve their communication with their best therapists, Mom and Dad!
I have specialized training in EMDR, grief and loss and family therapy.
Last, I offer three locations for counseling including in a client’s home which can be helpful in the cases of clients who are on bed rest or are recovering from a miscarriage or birth. I am excited to now be at hOMe holistic which offers a home environment with so many supportive services in addition to my office in downtown Kansas City.
Counseling can transform your relationships and improve your quality of life! Read more about me and my services at lscsw.org
Quite simply, I care about people’s stories; the present concerns being faced, the memories shaping beliefs, the fears hindering fulfillment, and the hopes motivating progress. I am a natural listener and a curious learner. Each client broadens my knowledge by allowing me to hear unique perspectives on relationships, family, health, downfalls, achievements, and expectations. I am grateful to be in such a privileged position, and I work hard to create safe, therapeutic relationships that lead to client fulfillment and wellness.
I have a special interest in working with women and couples during the prenatal and postnatal years. While these years are especially eventful and exciting, they are also at times extremely difficult. Therapeutic needs during the childbearing years are specific to each individual, so I am passionate about matching my knowledge and skills with my clients’ potential to achieve health and wellness for themselves and their growing families.
I have my Master’s in Counseling and Guidance with an emphasis in Couples and Family therapy and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Kansas. Outside of my professional life, I spend most of my time with my husband of 8 years and four hilarious kids. thegreenroompractice.com

During hard times, we can lose our sense of selves and may not know how to get it back. Going through challenges or changes that make you feel overwhelmed can lead to symptoms that get in the way of your relationships, your productivity, or cause feelings of dire hopelessness. Together, we will work towards recovering your sense of well-being and then work towards thriving beyond your struggles. I take an eclectic approach as a generalist practitioner and use a variety of techniques based on what you may need therapeutically, at the time you need it the most.
