Linda Mufich, P.T.

Linda graduated Cum Laude from the University of Kansas Medical Center in Physical Therapy.  She has 30+ years clinical experience in a variety of therapy settings--the last 20  in Women's Health.  She was the lead therapist in the first hospital-based Women's Health PT program offered in the Kansas City metro area at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Her specialty is treating pelvic issues in women throughout their  lifespan. This includes problems such as back & joint pain during pregnancy,  bladder, bowel & sexual dysfunctions during the post-partum or menopausal stages. Medical diagnoses in these categories include: Sciatica; Lumbosacral & Sacroiliac pain: Hip or Groin  pain; Pubic Symphysis Separation; Coccyxdynia (tail bone pain); Diastasis Recti Abdominus/DRA  (separated stomach muscles); Urinary or Fecal Incontinence; Prolapsed or "Dropped" organs; Pelvic Pain syndromes such as Vulvadynia/Vestibulitis & Dyspareunia (painful intercourse).  Linda also treats clients with primary pelvic organ diseases, such as Endometriosis, Interstitial Cystitis, Irritable Bowel, and various abdominal Cancers, as these can have secondary muscular symptoms which may respond to physical therapy through pelvic floor exercise & self-care instruction.

Linda is known for her creative & versatile treatment approach to pelvic problems.  She  draws from a large repertroire of therapeutic techniques, such as  myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, osteopathic muscle energy; orthopedic manual therapy, EMG (electromyograhic) biofeedback, & visceral mobilization, among others.  In 2010, she received her Certification in Advanced Pelvic Physical Therapy (CAPP) from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) after extensive coursework, practicum & research.  Other certifications include Kinesiotaping, Rock Blades, Massage therapy, a 200-hr yoga instructor training in 2015, & most recently, a Pelvic Floor Yoga specialty certification in 2018.  She often incorporates yoga into traditional physical therapy exercise routines--even while doing your "Kegels" !!!

Linda  is guided by the belief  that there is no "one-size-fits-all" when it comes to healing.  Her experience has taught her that each individual may respond differently to the same therapeutic intervention, based on their physical, emotional, or spiritual state.  Therefore, her treatment plans are highly individualized & tailored to each woman's personal needs.  She also stresses self care education & home exercise instruction in her treatment plans, encouraging each woman to take control & own their bodies as they heal pelvic issues.  In January 2018, she  launched Femme Focus PT, LLC specializing in Pelvic Health & Wellness for women, within the hOMeholistic center.  This has allowed her to continue her style of practice with individualized, 1+ hour sessions. She is happy to be in an integrative medicine environment where close collaboration with various practitioners can lead to better outcomes with clients.

Linda's Schedule:  Mondays & Wednesdays 8:30 AM-6 PM; Other days by appointment only.
