Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy

Meet The Team

Linda Mufich, P.T.

Linda is known for her creative & versatile treatment approach to pelvic problems.  She  draws from a large repertroire of therapeutic techniques, such as  myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, osteopathic muscle energy; orthopedic manual therapy, EMG (electromyograhic) biofeedback, & visceral mobilization, among others.  In 2010, she received her Certification in Advanced Pelvic Physical Therapy (CAPP) from the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) after extensive coursework, practicum & research.  Other certifications include Kinesiotaping, Rock Blades, Massage therapy, a 200-hr yoga instructor training in 2015, & most recently, a Pelvic Floor Yoga specialty certification in 2018.  She often incorporates yoga into traditional physical therapy exercise routines--even while doing your "Kegels" !!!

Linda  is guided by the belief  that there is no "one-size-fits-all" when it comes to healing.  Her experience has taught her that each individual may respond differently to the same therapeutic intervention, based on their physical, emotional, or spiritual state.  Therefore, her treatment plans are highly individualized & tailored to each woman's personal needs.  She also stresses self care education & home exercise instruction in her treatment plans, encouraging each woman to take control & own their bodies as they heal pelvic issues.  In January 2018, she  launched Femme Focus PT, LLC specializing in Pelvic Health & Wellness for women, within the hOMeholistic center.  This has allowed her to continue her style of practice with individualized, 1+ hour sessions. She is happy to be in an integrative medicine environment where close collaboration with various practitioners can lead to better outcomes with clients.

Schedule

Linda is in the clinic on Mondays & Tuesdays, 8:30am to 6pm & on Friday afternoons from 1 to 4pm.  Other days/times by special arrangement.

Shannon DeSalvo, P.T.

When you hear Shannon talk about Women’s Health Physical Therapy, it is evident that it is her true passion. She loves her work, which is why she decided to open her own private PT practice, Rehab for Her, in March of 2018.  Her desire is to provide women with compassionate care, expert advice and holistic healing in a relaxed and peaceful environment, which is why Home Holistic is the perfect place to be. Shannon brings exceptional skills and in-depth knowledge to her patients with over 20 years of specialized experience and advanced certification through the American Physical Therapy Association. However, she is most known for her caring heart and willingness to go that extra mile. With all patients, Shannon takes the time to get to know the “whole person” because she feels that is the key to a successful outcome.

In addition to her clinical practice, Shannon enjoys teaching the Doctorate of Physical Therapy students at Rockhurst University, contributing to textbooks, and giving talks to local moms’ groups. She loves the opportunity to educate others about pelvic floor rehabilitation. Her wish is that every young woman will be aware of this unique area of healthcare so that they do not suffer from conditions that could be treated with conservative measures like Pelvic PT.
